In an unlikely twist of fate Kelsey and Cory met when Kelsey’s family moved to Wake Forest, North Carolina. Both the bride and groom worked in the same restaurant and after what she describes as a few awkward dates and lots of laughs they became an item.

First dances are some of our favorite moments to photograph at any Long Island wedding.   They give us as creative wedding photographers to take a step back and capture the candid moments that tell the story of your wedding day.

The couples journey to Long Island started when Cory was in the Coast Guard and stationed in Fire Island. After promises to visit the lighthouse the couple made the trek out there on an early September day. Cory surprised Kelsey by getting down on one knee and proposing right there on the spot.

As the couple moved forward planning their day it was imperative that their photographer captured “them.” They decided on a fall wedding in New York and Lotus Wedding Photography helped ease their nerves when the weather forecast was only a high of forty-nine degrees! The bridal pictures went off without a hitch and despite the freezing temperatures the wedding photography team made it easy to focus on each other.

The couples favorite memories come to life thanks to Lotus’s artistic wedding photography. The fall sun shining through the bride’s Mori Lee dress, their rings reflecting on a smooth surface, and of course a photo of their first dance that is quintessentially “them,” full of laughs and happiness.
